Qualifications

  • Lead teachers must have at least: an Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, CDA, or other child development certification with 480 hours of experience. 

  • Assistant teachers/substitute teachers must have at least a high school degree.

  • At least 2 years experience working with preschool children.

  • Familiarity with play-based, child-led philosophies.

  • Able to keep up with physical demands of indoor and outdoor play.

Description    

    Wild Child Playschool offers play-based, child-led learning that nourishes healthy, independent, empathetic thinkers by focusing on play, nature, and social and emotional skills. Staff recognize and encourage the interests of children rather than teach from a prescribed curriculum. You can expect to get creative planning projects, centers, and a rich environment, plus adapting to follow a spontaneous opportunity. You can expect time to document and reflect and collaborate. You can expect your day to be dynamic, thoughtful, inspired, wild!

 

Duties

  • Keep children physically and emotionally safe, engaged, and respected.

  • Plan, implement, and facilitate play and project-based learning opportunities.

  • Stage indoor and outdoor spaces daily, and maintain organization and cleanliness.

  • Adapt activities as needed based on children’s needs and interests.

  • Maintain organized portfolio for each child, including documentation and observation.

  • Participate in school activities, such as professional development, social events, parent conferences.
