Qualifications
-
Lead teachers must have at least: an Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, CDA, or other child development certification with 480 hours of experience.

Assistant teachers/substitute teachers must have at least a high school degree.

At least 2 years experience working with preschool children.

Familiarity with play-based, child-led philosophies.

Description
Wild Child Playschool offers play-based, child-led learning that nourishes healthy, independent, empathetic thinkers by focusing on play, nature, and social and emotional skills. Staff recognize and encourage the interests of children rather than teach from a prescribed curriculum. You can expect to get creative planning projects, centers, and a rich environment, plus adapting to follow a spontaneous opportunity. You can expect time to document and reflect and collaborate. You can expect your day to be dynamic, thoughtful, inspired, wild!
Duties

Keep children physically and emotionally safe, engaged, and respected.

Plan, implement, and facilitate play and project-based learning opportunities.

Stage indoor and outdoor spaces daily, and maintain organization and cleanliness.

Adapt activities as needed based on children’s needs and interests.

Maintain organized portfolio for each child, including documentation and observation.

Participate in school activities, such as professional development, social events, parent conferences.
